The European Cancer Summit 2025 took place on 19-20 November 2025 in Brussels, Belgium.
The Summit brought together more than 500 participants from across the cancer community, including policymakers, patients, carers, survivors, healthcare professionals, civil society, institutions, researchers, academia and industry. This year’s theme, Cancer in a Changing Global Landscape: Challenges & Commitments, was shaped by the work of the European Cancer Organisation and its nine Focused Topic Networks. Discussions focused on the need to secure sustained political and financial support for cancer as a health and societal priority, along with accelerating Human Papillomavirus (HPV, a common viral infection spread mainly through skin-to-skin, which in some cases can cause cancer) elimination, strengthening screening and prevention and preparing health systems for artificial intelligence.
The BETTER4U project was featured to this diverse audience, highlighting the importance of effective prevention and treatment strategies that also help reduce cancer risk, improve early detection, and enhance screening. By addressing obesity as a complex disease, BETTER4U promotes a personalised approach to prevention and treatment, tailored to individual needs and health.
The Summit offered a unique setting for healthcare professionals, patients and policymakers to discuss challenges from every perspective and work together towards developing sustainable solutions.
