The BETTER4U project was featured for the second year in a row at the 21st International Workshop on Neonatology and Pediatrics in Cagliari, Italy (22-25 October 2025).
In this video interview, Dr. Antonio Noto, researcher at the University of Cagliari (UNICA), presents the role of UNICA’s Metabolomics Laboratory in the BETTER4U project, including two key tasks:
- Interplay of factors in obesity and weight change: UNICA is conducting a meta-analysis of metabolic profiles across European cohorts to assess BMI associations and geographical influences, aiming to develop a comprehensive lifestyle risk score that includes psychosocial and biological determinants.
- Multicentre clinical trial: A seven-site randomised controlled trial will compare standard counselling with AI-driven personalized interventions (BETTER4U platform), targeting BMI and weight loss outcomes, biomarker changes, and psychosocial measures, with UNICA overseeing metabolomics and real-time monitoring.
