The 13th of March 2025, BETTER4U partners from the Department of Innovation and Digitalisation in Law (University of Vienna) presented the project during the 𝗞𝗔𝗧𝗬 Annual Progress Meeting which took place in Lisbon.  

KATY is an EU funded project that focuses on AI based technologies. While BETTER4U focuses on tailoring interventions to prevent and address obesity, KATY focuses on the development of AI based technologies for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of specific types of cancer. The project is tackling the challenge to revolutionize everyday medical practice with tailored and transparent recommendations. 

During the conference there was a roundtable talk titled “AI Act Implementation in the Health Sector Challenges and Opportunities”. The roundtable was formed by experts from law, human rights, AI, and healthcare, who are involved in medical research projects from various universities and institutions. Olga Startseva, lawyer for the University of Vienna represented the 𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥𝟰𝗨 project in the discussion.
